【摘要】:Guidelinesareprovidedfortheuseofsiliconesealantsinprotectiveglazing.ProtectiveglazingincorporatesvariousformsofglazingthatarenotcoveredinGuidesC1401andC1193.Therequirementsforasealantinprotectiveglazingaresimilartotherequirementsforstructuralsealantglazingbutforcertainapplicationssuchasmissileimpactandbombblastglazing,sealantrequirementsmaybegreater.Modesoffailureforbombblastglazingcanbedifferentthanthemodesoffailureformissileimpactglazing.Manytypesofprotectiveglazingsystemsarerelativelynewandthetestmethodsandstandardsforprotectiveglazingarecontinuallyevolving.Becausethedemandsonasealantinprotectiveglazingsystemsarechanging,guidelinesarenecessarilygeneralinmanyinstances.Asacomponentofaglazingsystem,thesealantcanbeafactorinwhetheraglazingsystemmeetstherequirementsofaspecifictestmethodbutotherfactorssuchastheframeandglasstypemaybeofgreaterinfluence.Thedesignerofaprotectiveglazingsystemshouldconsultwiththevariousmanufacturersofthecomponentmaterials.Theexperienceandjudgmentoftheglazingsystemdesignerworkingwiththesealantmanufacturerandothercomponentmanufacturerscanultimatelydeterminewhetheraspecificglazingsystemwillsuccessfullymeetaspecifictestrequirement.1.1Thisguidecoverstheuseofsiliconesealantsinprotectiveglazingsystemsforbuildingconstruction.Protectiveglazingincludessystemsdesignedforuseinapplicationssubjecttonaturaldisasterssuchashurricanes,earthquakes,windstormsandformsofforcedentrysuchasblasts,burglary,andballisticattack.1.2Whileotherglazingaccessoriesandcomponentsareusedinprotectiveglazing,thisdocumentspecificallydescribestheuseofsiliconesealantsforprotectiveglazingsystems.1.3Thisguideprovidesinformationusefultodesignprofessionals,architects,manufacturers,installers,andothersforthedesignandinstallationofsiliconesealantsforprotectiveglazingsystems.1.4Asiliconesealantisonlyonecomponentofaglazingsystem.Aglazingsystemthatmeetsthetestingandcoderequirementforimpactglazingmustsuccessfullyintegratetheframeanditsanchorage,glass,orotherglazingmaterials,protectivefilmorinterlayerandsiliconesealantintoahighperformancesystem.Compliancewithcodeorotherrequirementscanbedeterminedthroughphysicaltestingoftheglazingsystemorthroughcomputersimulation.1.5Glazingsystemsusingsiliconesealantsthathavesuccessfullymetthetestrequirementsformissileimpactandbombblasttestrequirementsincorporatetheuseofsiliconesealantsspecificallyformulated,tested,andmarketedforthisapplication.SealantsthatarecommonlyusedtodaycomplywithSpecificationsC920andC1184.1.6Thisguidedoesnotdiscusssealantsintendedtoprotectagainstradioactivityorprovidebiologicalcontainment.1.7Thecommitteewithjurisdictionoverthisstandardisnotawareofanycomparablestandardspublishedbyotherorganizations.1.8Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatoryrequirementspriortouse.
