【摘要】:Pitchdoesnotgothroughasolid-liquidphasechangewhenheated,andthereforedoesnothaveatruemeltingpoint.Asthetemperatureisraisedpitchgraduallysoftensorbecomeslessviscous.Forthisreason,thedeterminationofthesofteningpointmustbemadebyanarbitrary,butcloselydefined,methodifthetestvaluesaretobereproducible.Thistestmethodisusefulindeterminingtheconsistencyofpitchesasoneelementinestablishingtheuniformityofshipmentsorsourcesofsupply.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthesofteningpointofpitcheshavingsofteningpointsintherangefrom50to180x00B0;Cbythistestmethod,andgivesresultscomparabletothoseobtainedbyTestMethodD2319above176x00B0;F(80x00B0;C).1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
